Discourse shaping

Our priority is the creation of shared knowledge that is developed in a specific place and a specific situation together with other people involved. The collective knowledge thus acquired and 'experienced' fosters community and engagement. Our aim is to educate the population on urban planning issues in this way. At the same time, we want to use our experience to cultivate and guide public discourse and bring it closer to the people. We create:

– Articles, lectures, interviews about what is a city and about sensitive urban design.
– Summer school for young professionals.
– Workshops and exhibitions for the professional and non-professional public.

We emphasize a non-hierarchical approach in the preparation of educational and other events. We use methods that get people working together, take into account the needs of individuals and are inclusive. It is through facilitation that we are able to provide a comfortable working atmosphere for participants in our events throughout. Our main events include, in particular, the Never Never summer school and the lecture-discussion series Mestoláska (City love). Both have been running since 2018 and we have brought all sorts of valuable experts and professionals to Košice through them.

*Since its establishment in 2016, Spolka has been involved in many projects. This is only a selection of a few that we consider among the most significant.
