Spolka is a collaboratively run interdisciplinary research and design studio focused on creating good cities. We bring inclusion, equality, and sustainability into urban planning and contemporary architecture, with sensitivity to planetary limits and more-than-human needs. Our work grows from sociology and architecture, blending social research with spatial design. We collaborate with communities and cities through mapping, prototyping, and hands-on workshops.
We design with care - from product and interior design to architecture and urbanism. We believe functional spaces emerge from research-informed decisions, community energy, and respectful attention to existing materials, histories, and ecologies.
